Tehran, Dec 26, IRNA -- An earthquake with an intensity of 4 degrees on the open-ended Richter scale jolted the southwestern city of Masjed Soleyman in Khuzestan province on Friday morning. The seismological bases of the Geophysics Institute, affiliated to Tehran University, said the tremor occurred at 08:10 hours local time (0440 GMT). There were no reports of any casualty or damage to property caused by the quake. Iran is situated on some of the world’s most active seismic fault lines and quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence.
