Minor earthquake hits semnan

Semnan, April 13, IRNA -- An earthquake measuring 4.1 degrees on the open-ended Richter scale jolted the city of Shahroud, in the northeastern province of Semnan, on Tuesday. The seismological base of Tehran University`s Geophysics Institute said the tremor occurred at 06:14 hours local time (01.44 GMT). There were no reports of any casualties or damage to property caused by the quake. Iran is situated on some of the world`s most active seismic faultlines and quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence.
