prospecting for ores in bafgh –Poshte Badam zone, GSI experts have identified a molybdenum deposit in Ahmad abad area(NE of  Bafgh city) .This deposit comprises three mineralized horizons concordant whit their host dolomitic beds (shotori formation) of middle Triassic age . The exposure of the main horizon is estimated to beup to 10 m thick and 100 m long.

The analyzed values of mo in 8 collected specimens from different parts of the deposit are from 1.24 to 3.35  %wt (Fig.1).wolfeinte (4pbm.0) is the major ore minerals associated whit galena ,sphalerite ,pyrite ,smite sonite ,cerussite ,calamine and Iron oxide /hydroxide in the deposit(fig .2).

This is the first time that the occurrence of mo in shotori Formation is reported ,therefore the area has potential to be explored for other  mo deposit.
