During the first two months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2004-March 19, 2005), 319,700 tons of minerals, valued at $37.1 million, were exported abroad.
This volume of mineral export shows 19.4 percent decrease in weight and 33.4 percent increase in value in comparison with the corresponding period past year (March 20, 2003-March 19, 2004).
The average value of mineral per ton also mounted up to $116, which shows 65.5 percent increase correspondingly.
Among all mineral products, zinc concentrate and stone as well as the stone and concentrate of chromate ranked first and second minerals from the viewpoint of export value, each with total export value of $5.5 million and $5.4 million.
