Thunderbolt kills fifteen Chinese
Beijing, June 27 - Fifteen people sheltering from the rain under trees were killed when a thunderbolt struck a town in east China's Zhejiang province, state media said Sunday.
The victims were among 30 people waiting under four metasequoia trees Saturday afternoon when the flash of lightning struck in Duqiao town, the Xinhua news agency said.
Eleven of them died on the spot and four others died in hospital. Fifteen other people were injured and remain hospitalized, with three in critical condition, Xinhua said.
