Iranian scientists proposed a new mathematical model for prediction of stress components and displacements, which occurred during contraction of concrete layer that has roughness with its base. Dr. Mahmoud Ameri, associate professor of civil engineering, Iran University of Science & Technology, and Mahmoud Malakuti Msc, proposed a model, which justifies the effects of concrete properties, and contact of two layers on the stress condition and concrete contraction derived displacements. By applying relationship of stress, sliding and friction between concrete and its base in seven samples, they considered the role of base in stress distribution during concrete contraction and also the effect of contact continuity of two layers on constrictional stress. These tests were derived for situating concrete layers on asphalt base.
   They say that because of time related parameters; the model can predicts stress condition during contraction and displacement of concrete. The results show that the base has important role on the quantity of extensional stresses derived from contraction in concrete covers. …
   Researchers believe that the model can be used in controlling contraction derived cracks in overbuilding projects. Also probably the model can be used for temperature derived stress prediction.
