Dr. Seyed Ali Aghanabati the Geological Survey of Iran's Planning and programming Manager has written the book Gelogy of Iran . This book contains Iran geology characteristics and has 11 chapters and 568 pages.

   The first chapter includes a description of Iran geology in the Alp – Hymalia orogenic belt and the origin of Iran's crust.
   The second chapter includes a description of major sedimentary- structural zones of Iran.
   Third, fourth, fifth and sixth chapters ,describe stratigraphy characteristics , magmatic activities and metamorphic processes of Iran from Precambrian to Quaternary.
   Seventh chapter describes parts of Iran crust, which have oceanic origin so called colored mélange that explain the geodynamic processes and periodical -distribution of these oceanic crusts.
   Eight chapter explains imposed tectonic events of Iran crust and their results, either in the time and in the site.
   Ninth chapter introduces the faults and their effects on Iran geology. Some of these faults are old and have an important effect on Iran geology.
   Most of lakes and seas of Iran are the result of tectonic processes. Therefore, tenth chapter explains seas and lakes of Iran.
   The last chapter provides pictures of Iran glaciers and their geographical position.
   We hope that this text would be useful for Iranian researchers.
   It is worthy to mention that this book is being translated into the English language and will be available for the foreign researchers soon.
