37% of Dolomite Mines in Nahavand

Based on the published statistics by the Industries and Mines Organization of Hamedan province out of Iran's 19 active dolomite mines there are 7 active mines in Nahavand that covers 37 percent of the total country's dolomite.
Based on the published statistics by the Industries and Mines Organization of Hamedan province out of Iran's 19 active dolomite mines there are 7 active mines in Nahavand that covers 37 percent of the total country's dolomite. According to NGDIR News Section, Iran's dolomite reserves has been estimated to be 102 mt. out of which 10 mt is in Nahavand. It is said that foreign private sector is about to establish the biggest processing plant in this city for extracting magnesite from dolomite.
   In case of establishing this plant, Iran would be among few countries that is capable of extracting magnesite through processing dolomite. Meanwhile, the Industries and Mines organization has announced that up to now no positive action has been taken to establish this plant. The number of the mines in this city is 15 mines and there are about 154 people working in these mines.
