Airborne Geophysical Surveys Commenced in Saqez

Airborne geophysical Survey was commenced, with cooperation of the Iranian an Canadian experts, for reconnaissance ore mineral resources in Saqez area, the Project Executor, Eng. Mohammad, Joabadi Said that in this project an area of 5000 km2, 10,000 km flight lines with 200m exploration profile spacing and with 30m flight height from topography level will be surveyed Eng. Mohammadi expressed hope, implementing this project and interpreting the data obtained from the radiometric and magnetometry and eletromagnetometry methods, the measured instrument of which, have been installed on the helicopter, as well carrying out complementary exploration field work, considerable new ore deposits to be explored in the area. Eng. Abodolfatah Hessami the Head of Industries and Mines Organization of Kurdestan province said that: This is the first time that Airborne Geophysical Survey is being done in this province.
