An earthquake measuring 4.1 degrees on the open-ended Richter scale shook the cities of Damavand and Firouzkouh in Tehran province on Friday.
According to the seismological base of Tehran University`s Geophysics Institute, the tremor occurred at 05:12 hours local time (0142 GMT).
There were no reports of casualties or any damage to property. Iran is situated on some of the world`s most active seismic fault lines and quakes of varying magnitudes are usual occurrences.
