Variety of geological sediments from Pre-Cambrian to the Recent, tectonic activities expansion and the existence of faults such as Dehshir, Posht-e-Badam, Naybadn, Cheshmeh Kalmard and Rostam as well as the volcanic rocks outcrop, has placed Yazd province in a peculiar situation. This province Owning 600 mt proved and 2 bn ton probable reserve of thermal coal and cock, totally 4/5 bn geological reserves, more than 25 ore minerals, different types of decorative rocks, such as marmarite marble, granite and travertine is one of the most important and richest area throughout the country.
