In the first half of the current year (started March 21, 2004), Hamedan Province exported $1.1m worth of minerals.

In the first half of the current year (started March 21, 2004), Hamedan Province exported $1.1m worth of minerals. During the period, a total of 1.7 million tons of various substances were extracted from 163 mines in Hamedan province. According to the latest statistics, Hamedan reserves 685 million tons of minerals. The annual output of the province has been reported to be 3.2 million tons. Meanwhile, reports say that about $113 billion have so far been invested in mineral sector.
   Industrial limestone was extracted most in the period with 963 thousand tons. Altogether, 1442 miners work in the mines of Hamedan Province.
