Geology in the Camden Area
The rumblings of the Earth are certainly on everyone's minds these days, and Miller's talk will address both the big picture-- the global-scale forces that shaped this land to begin with-- as well as more intimate sketches that local rock outcrops and industries provide. Handouts will identify local points of interest to fledgling rockhounds, and Miller's background as a consulting hydrogeologist will allow for a wide-ranging question-and-answer session following his prepared remarks. Audience members will also have a chance to handle and examine many different specimens of local stone types, and learn to identify some of the major groups of stone.
This is the second talk in the series, and is free to members, $3.00 for non-members of the Park. Tea and baked refreshments will be served, and no pre-registration is required. For more information, contact Merryspring at 236-2239.
