The GSI has increased its geochemical explorations in five promising mining regions. Eng Shindoukht Aboulmaali,Head of geochemical exploration group of the Systematic Exploration Projects announced that geochemical exploration group bearing
more than five years of experience, proficient experts, well equipped laboratories and required software is making research into metallic and non-metallic elements explorations. In geochemical data processing part, high potential and more complementary operations for promising regions were announced through employment of scientific and statistical methods.
Preliminary studies, data collection, sampling network designation, samples analysis, data processing and preparation of geochemistry anomaly maps are the duties of the above-mentioned section. 33 sheets of maps on the scale of 1:100,000 in five exploration regions were prepared for the southern part of Khorassan, central Iran and Markazi province. Shokran
region in the Alborz zone could cover an area of 82500sq.km. At present, two promising regions are being studied for map preparation purposes in southern Khorassan. These maps will be on the scale of 1:20,000. Hope these maps will be completed by the end of this year.
