Following the expertise visit to Venezuela a memorandum of understanding has been signed between Iran and Venezuela on development of technical and scientific ties.
Following the expertise visit to Venezuela a memorandum of understanding has been signed between Iran and Venezuela on development of technical and scientific ties. Dr Ghassemi,the Geological Survey of Iran's Regional Geology Manager announced that following to the trip of the Venezuelan President and also the Minster for Economy of that
   country, an Iranian delegation went to Venezuela to develop bilateral ties. The objectives of this trip are regarding small and medium industry, technical knowledge exchange in the field of geology and mineral exploration. The Venezuelan Minister for Economy, managers of different geological companies, geological Institute of Venezuela (INGEOMIN) and Iranian experts from the GSI participated in the negotiations. In this meeting, the Iranian authorities visited their Venezuelan counterparts. At the end of the meeting, an MOU was signed between the Iranian and Venezuelan authorities. According to the MOU, a six-person delegation will come from Venezuela to Iran to prepare applied geology maps.
   Two countries will hold joint research projects concerning engineering geology and environmental geology.
   In the meantime the Venezuelan President allocated a considerable budget for the joint plans between the two countries.
   As Iran and Venezuela economy is a monopoly based on petroleum industry, they have a lot similar concerns.
