The biggest problem on mineral processing issue in Iran is to use inappropriate management in mining and processing units. This matter is solved and optimized through specialized management for resources and mineral processing units. The head of Yazd province research center announced that they had suitable facilities and technology regarding mineral processing but the problem was inappropriate management in mineral processing units. In fact, even the available technology has not been used in some of processing units. For instance, Esfordi phosphate railway is not active anymore, whereas it has suitable technology.
Chadormaloo apatite mine is not active, whereas this mine can produce 140,000 ton of phosphate concentrate, annually. For the mentioned cases, suitable and efficient technology is available.
Certain raw materials are exported via related organization, and these cases are mostly done by private sector. Appropriate and proper management will optimize the activities of big industrial units that are under control of the government. Fortunately, good activities have been done regarding this issue, recently. Hope continuation of these activities solves the problems concerning raw materials export. The most significant activity of Yazd research center is about mineral processing. Out of 175 well-defined research projects, only 30 of them have been executed. They need a five million Toman budget to be executed.
24 of these projects were financially supported by Development Organization. Chadormaloo Company supports 6 of the projects.
It is important to note that Yazd research center has close collaboration with the Geological Survey of Iran and uses its laboratory services.
