The first lead mine in Gilan was discovered in Deylaman after four years of geophysical operations, excavations, tunneling, chipping and borehole making.
The first lead mine in Gilan was discovered in Deylaman after four years of geophysical operations, excavations, tunneling, chipping and borehole making. It reserves some 55,500 tons of lead. The ministry of industries and mines has underwritten the project with paying 65% of the total costs while the rest was provided by the private sector. The project of exploiting the new mine that starts next year will create 30 jobs. Some 5500 tons of lead powder is planned to be exported to Zanjan for being processed. Gilan is the country’s 16th biggest producer of minerals.
