Quake jolts Qom, southwest Tehran
An earthquake measuring 3.9 degrees on the Richter scale hit suburbs of the city of Qom, in Qom province, 160 km southwest of the capital city of Tehran Sunday evening.
An earthquake measuring 3.9 degrees on the Richter scale hit suburbs of the city of Qom, in Qom province, 160 km southwest of the capital city of Tehran Sunday evening.
The seismological base, affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, recorded the tremor at 22:02 hours local time (1732 GMT).
The base also said that the tremble occurred in an area located in 34.24 degrees latitude and 50.80 degrees longitude.
There were no reports on possible damage to property caused by the earthquake.
