The magnitude 4.0 earthquake hit about two miles northeast of Yucaipa at 3:17 p.m. The quake was centered about 75 miles east of Los Angeles, according to the United States Geological Survey.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.

On June 16, a 4.9 quake struck three miles northeast of Yucaipa. It was followed a minute-and-a-half later by a magnitude 3.5 aftershock and multitude smaller aftershocks.

On Sunday, the Lake Tahoe region was jolted just before noon by a magnitude 4.8 earthquake. It was centered about five miles northwest of Kings Beach.
