INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR ON MODERN GEODYNAMICS KICK OFF IN BAKU
A three-day international seminar entitled “Modern Geodynamics, Georisk and Sustainable Development of the Territories from the Black Sea to the Caspian Region” commenced at the Geology Institute of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences /ANAS/, July 4.
The event initiated by the Karsluhe University of Heidelberg Academy of Germany and supported by the UNESCO, Exxon Mobile, International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics was attended by scientists and specialists from Azerbaijan, Great Britain, United States of America, France, Russia, Italy, Australia, Georgia and other countries.
Academician-secretary of the ANAS Earth Sciences section, director of the Geology Institute, academician Akif Alizadeh stressed the importance of the seminar and expressed gratitude to its organizers.
Then, seminar participants heard the reports delivered by vice-president if the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics Tom Bier, German parliament representative Michael Link, doctor of geological-mineralogical sciences Bahruz Panahi, director of the republican center of seismological service, ANAS corresponding member Arif Hasanov and others.
The seminar will end July 6.
