Reporting the public relations of Geological Survey of Iran, Eng. Mahmoud Farhadi, Manager of Industries and Mines Organization of chaharmahal Bakhtyari Province in an interview with the reporter of GSI said: “Argillite, Bauxite, marble, Gypsum, silica and cement materials are the resources existing in the province that there are 49 active mines and 16 non-active mines.
“There are 68 mines in the province now that 5 mines have been allocated to state sector and 9 mines to cooperative sector and 54 remainder mines to private sector and 3 mines are equipping” he stated.
“561706 tons of mineral has been extracted of these mines during first 3 months of current year and 505 personnel activate there that indicates desirable development in this period”.

Finally, he added that there were 16 requests for exploration during first 3 months of 2004 that was issued exploration permit for 5 mines while there were 18 requests at the same time in 2005 that allocated 8 exploration permits an 1 exploration certificate after necessary studies that more than 2216 thousand tons of reserve has been explored by applicants and valued at least 106 million rials to issue the exploration certificate too.
