6 minerals exploration groups recognized in the country by compilation of strategic project of exploration by GSI
GSI News Section: Eng. Simin Mehdizadeh, manager of project and planning of GSI said: "The first group includes Au, Ag, Cu, molybdenum, Pb, Zn and Fe that their exploration needs fast actions and the state investment", reporting the public relations of Geological Survey of Iran.
"The second group is the minerals with less importance in comparison to first group and the government should invest for minerals exploration of this group including Chromites, Titanium, Vanadium, Antimony, Tungsten and Asbestos".
She described that Feldspar, Bore, Mg, Hg and Mn are the third group and has been recognized mineralization effects and less ores of this group of indexes and is necessary evaluation and more proved research studies.
"The forth group includes minerals that has been recognized only their effects and samples or there is suitable situation for establishment of their reserves in the country but yet, hasn’t been introduced valid and recognized reserves of them, turquoise, valuable rocks, Niobium, Tantalum, rare earth element, Nickel, cobalt and metals of Platinum, graphite and Pb groups" she said.
"Potash, fireclay, Phosphate, talc, Sodium Sulphate, Mica and industrial minerals include the fifth group and have been exploited and produced up to now by easy technology,so; they have many attractions for private sector as it has accomplished itself all stages of exploration to export".
Finally, Eng. Mehdizadeh stated that the sixth group (the last group) includes Bauxite, Andalusia, garnet, Celestin and coal having good reserves that haven’t prepared these minerals due to production and industrial consumption problem.
