GSI News Group: An earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale hit the city of Bafq in the central province of Yazd Wednesday morning.
Yazd Seismography Network, affiliated to the Tehran University Geophysics Institute, said the quake occurred at 10:43 hour local time (0613 GMT).
The report added the tremor was registered in an area located in 55.03 degrees longitude and 32.04 degrees latitude.
No reports have yet been available on possible damage to property.
Quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence in Iran, which lies on one of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
