Construction works aimed at building the second phase of Ilam Cement Production Plant development plan is underway; The project is 27% complete now.
All the equipments required for the development of the cement production plant have already been purchased and imported, costing about 27 mln euros, the Persian service of Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) quoted Ilam Cement Plant managing director as saying.
Unfortunately, export to Iraq of the plant?s products has been banned and the company is facing difficulties in meeting the costs of building the plant?s second assembly line, he noted adding, if the cement exports from the plant are not renewed, construction works of the project would be virtually stopped.
If operational, the second phase would be capable of producing 3,400 tons of cement per day, the plant director said adding that, given its high quality, products from the plant have the potentials to fill the markets for the commodity in Iran and other countries as well.
Daily production from Ilam Cement Plant currently stands at about 2,000 tons.
