Production of chromite mine located in South Khorasan will been added by 500 thousand of tons.
Reporting the Public Relations of the Geological Survey of Iran, chromite mine of Gaft around South Khorasan Province is one of the biggest chromite mines of Iran that is being explored in two forms of open pit by superficial exploration and underground by profound exploration .The   mine includes a tunnel in 130m of depth in field of chromite exploitation. The grade of chromite reserve has been reported more than 40% that is nearly considerable.
 
According to the report, proved reserve of the mine is almost 500 thousand of tons and personnel number, working in the mine, have been reported 120 people that its exploitation permit has been issued for 25 years.
 
The concentrated raw minerals of the mine are exported to interior and foreign countries for sell after process operation and collection.
 
The mine has problems in field of security of mines, protection of natural reserves and environment and also financial problems of workers, that they will be solved, supporting ministry of industries and mines of the provinces and involved organs.
