The problems existing in mines exploitation of Lorestan Province is prevention by Environment Organization and relative stagnation in sale market mostly.
 
Reporting the public relations of the Geological Survey of Iran (GSI), Eng. Gholamreza Mosadegh, manager of Mines & Industries Organization in Lorestan Province in an interview with reporter of the organization stated that the most important problem in mines exploitation of the province is prevention by Environment Organization and relative stagnation in sale market although production of more minerals and equipment of mines and constant supervision to respect safety.
 
He explained that production of minerals has been increased %4 in first 6 months the current year compared to last year,so; preliminary value of exploited materials has been almost 230 million rials that are non-metallic reserves totally.
 
He stated:" Decorated stones including marble, porcelain and granite are the most important minerals existing in the province and there are 87 active mines and 24 non-active mines in the province that 79 mines allocate to private sector and 3 mines to public sector and 29 other mines to cooperation sector and the value allocated is 270899 billion rials".
 
"At present, 45 exploration permits are active in nearly 30 km2 and also remote sensing operation was accomplished in 7500 km2 and geochemical operation implemented in 5000 km2".
 
He added that there are 50 deserted mines in the province that a little number of them has been extracted due to locating in protected regions, reserve completion, lack of suitable sale market.
 
Finally, he uttered: "The geological maps of 1:100000 have been prepared more for north parts as most of central and eastern and western regions in the province have no proper information and maps".
