Description
Study area with area of 40 square kilometers involved in Sakht-e-Hesar heights is locted in southwest in Salafchegan.
This area is in tectonic zone of central Iran and below Orumieh – girl the zone. Salafchegan region in terms of geology and volcanic sedimentary units involved Eocene, Oligocene and Miocene. This units include andesitic tuff, marl and sandy silt limestone. Then the semi-deep rock of Miocene - Pliocene have been penetrated into dyke, sills and semi-deep bodies into the older units. The most important fault of this section has strike – slip mechanism along and have been cut deposits of the Eocene - Oligocene through the NE to SW. Their kind is mainly sinistral strike – slip and have been displaced Eocene and Oligocene deposits. In metalogrny aspect, the study area is a part of the gold zone of Saveh - Kashan - Nain which the gold ore deposits
and basic metals, particularly lead and zinc is extremely important.
Geochemical exploration operations began in area of Salafchegan II with designing of sampling network and sampling contemporary at 209 geochemical samples and 86 samples of heavy minerals. The Base of network design was using of geochemical data and heavy mineral, exploration geochemical report, sheet of Salafchegan in scale of 1:100,000. Gathered geochemical samples ware sent for analysis to the laboratory Zarazma company and in that was measured 44 elements in method of spectroscopy - Induced Conjugate Plasma (ICP-OES) and Fire assay. Then, after processing and error correction data, maps of geochemical anomalies and heavy minerals were presented. Considering to these maps, major anomalies has been located in the southwest section of Sakht-e-Hesar heights, in explore the northern part of the exploration region and the east of exploration region, encompassing of Palang-Dare to the Eastern Exploration Area. Meanwhile anomalies of elements lead, zinc, antimony and manganese have significant amount and more importance. One of prominent features of this anomaly is consistent with the heavy mineral anomalies.
Among the heavy mineral samples, important mineralized minerals have significant presence as galena, cerussite, sphalerite, smith Zonite, Vulfonite, Pyromorfite, and free lead with mimetite, flourite are paragenesis of lead and zinc minerals. Abundant minerals among the samples of heavy minerals are emphasis on epithermal lead and zinc ore deposits in region and often geochemical anomalies confirm the above elements.
Finally, the expansion of heavy mineral and geochemical anomalies and heavy mineral of five promising areas was introduced and it was found in control phase that in this area numerous ore deposits as vein, has outcrops especially in the range of anomalies in numbers 1,2 and 4. These veins with a trend of NE - SW has out crop in length of 200 m and thickness up to 1 m in the west. These veins have brown color and the minerals have been sheered under the influence of tectonical movements and they have been extended under influence of supersession processes and the oxide zone. Rock units involved in this vein are altered to andesitic tuff. Texture of this expansion is of veins of iron hydroxides, manganese oxides, carbonates and oxides of lead and zinc, such as cerussite, smitzonite, vanadinite and hemi Morphite and copper carbonate (malachite). The texture is of veins as a box (Boxwork texture). This texture is index of oxide porphyry and epithermal deposits. In the control phase of anomalies, 29 samples and 15 samples of mineral heavy were gathered.
Considering to the results of sample analysis of mineralized minerals, carat of elements lead, zinc, copper, arsenic and high level of mineralization is high and is in mineralization. Considering to the results of studies of heavy mineral and geochemical and the survey in preliminary operation control, possible type of ore deposit of Salafchegan area are type of poly metal vein ore deposits and ultimately anomaly areas No. 1,2 and 4 is recommended for general exploration operations with a scale of 1:5000.
