Description

Abstract      On 4th July 2004 at daybreak of Sunday,at “Paqaleh” region, located near Shahre-e-babak city and eastern hillside of “Mozahem” volcano, have been reported some roars and tremors and changes in the springs status. In a general view, mentioned events can be precursory markers of earthquakes and are very important research cases. Our study shows that the roars and tremors are related to small earthqukes that occurred between 2th to 14th July in the region and issued by local seismic network of geophysic institute of Tehran university (Yazd station) and are properly coincide with local events. Despite the hydrochemical and phyisical changes in water of springs are prevalent and important phenomena, in the springs of this region,at least by human senses and without instrumental or laboratory testing and continuous monitoring, there is no any visible change coincide to recent earthquakes. However evidences like Quaternary faults and Mozahem volcano, geomorphological and magnetice basement features and recent earthquakes showing activity of the region. In this regard further and more detailed investigations should be done.
