Urmia lake is the largest hypersaline lake of the world which is located in NW of Iran.Sedimentological studies on the three cores of Shahid۱:placename> Kalantari۱:placename> Highway۱:placename> Bridge۱:placetype>۱:place> showed that the main constituents include terrigenous, carbonates, evaporates and organic matter. In the first stage, the percentage of each constituent weight are measured utilizing the laboratory methods. Then each of this constituents are predicted using neural network technique. For this purpose, the data set from two cores were used to construct a model based on neural network and third cores data were used to evaluate the reliability of neural network method. The results show that artificial neural network have been successful in this study.
