Emerging gold producer Adamus Resources has received Mining Lease approval for the first stage of its Southern Ashanti Gold Project (SAGP) in Ghana.Adamus received the required approvals from the Republic of Ghana Minister of Lands, Forestry and Mines, marking another significant milestone in the development of the project. The approval means Adamus has the exclusive rights to work, develop and produce within the mining lease areas for an initial 10 years, with this initial term being renewable. The Mining Leases, together with the existing Anwia South mining lease, will allow the development of the priority Salman and Anwia deposits, as well as additional deposits discovered within these immediate districts. The Minerals Commission of the Government of Ghana (Mincom) is the agency charged with assessing mining projects and recommending approval to the Minister of Lands, Forestry and Mines. Adamus Chief Operating Officer, Mark Connelly, said the company has been working closely with Mincom and other agencies in Ghana throughout the approval process. “This is a significant milestone, delivered within our project timeframes, and is the result of the collaborative and professional approach adopted between Adamus and Mincom on the ground in Ghana,” Mr Connelly said. “We are very pleased to have received all the necessary approvals for the mining leases in such a timely manner, and we believe this further demonstrates the Government of Ghana’s support for the development of the Southern Ashanti Gold Project. “Our focus now is on completing permitting with the Environmental Protection Agency of Ghana as we move towards commencing construction to meet our production goals,” he said.
