Every Day Mining Services has signed its first major diamond drilling contract since listing on ASX in June 2007.The company has secured an extensive diamond drilling program with emerging New South Wales-based mining company Tri Origin Minerals to undertake a 9500m, mainly diamond core, drilling program. The contract is for drilling at Tri Origin’s Woodlawn zinc-copper underground project near Gouldburn, NSW. The drilling is mostly geotechnical work and will form part of the bankable feasibility study currently being completed by Tri Origin. EDMS said it would utilise its recently acquired Atlas Copco C14 rig for this contract, with the program scheduled to start next week. The company said the value of the contract will be approximately $1.6m.EDMS Managing Director Roger Jackson said the approach to and commissioning of the company to undertake this contract was an important building block in establishing a strong relationship with a new emerging base metal producer in the Lachlan Fold belt in NSW. “This new contract is believed to be the first stage of work with Tri Origin and we believe that there will be additional follow up work for EDMS,” Mr Jackson said. “EDMS now has two of its recently acquired rigs working on long-term drilling contracts, with the third rig currently under negotiation for a large scale drill program,” he said.
