High grade zone intersected at Zeta Prospect

Infill drilling undertaken at Discovery Metals’ Zeta Prospect has intersected high-grade copper mineralization in grading excess of 2% copper over a strike length of 900m in the centre of the Zeta Inferred Mineral Resource. The company has announced the results from the first 17 of 56 infill drill holes, completed late in 2007, as a part of the pre-feasibility study being completed at the Zeta Prospect, which is within the company’s 100% owned Maun Copper Project in north-west Botswana. The Zeta Prospect currently contains an Inferred Mineral Resource of 27.1Mt at 1.3% Cu and 21 g/t Ag, at a cut-off of 0.6% Cu. These latest holes were completed on 100m spaced sections within the central section of the Zeta Inferred Mineral Resource which previous studies have indicated has the potential to be mined via an open pit operation. Discovery Metals’ Managing Director, Jeremy Read, said that the initial results received from the Zeta Infill Drill Program were very encouraging as they suggest that the copper-silver mineralisation in the centre of the Zeta Resource is both higher grade and thicker than previous drilling had indicated.“The results from the holes released today have exceeded our expectations as they have defined a higher grade zone in the centre of the Zeta Resource grading greater than 2% Cu over a strike length of nearly a kilometre and at shallow depth,” Mr Read said.“From this first batch of results from the Zeta Infill Drill Program we have recorded our best ever intersection at Zeta of 8m at 3.1% Cu indicating that the closer spaced drilling is giving us much better definition of the higher grade areas within the Zeta Resource and we are looking forward to receiving further results from the infill drill program,” he said.
