Higher-than-predicted gold grades as Laverton nears full production

Higher than expected gold grades have been returned from the second phase of grade control drilling at the Crescent Gold’s Laverton gold mine, 250km northeast of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. The company said visible gold was observed in the grade control drilling, adding further confidence to the project. Best results included 5m @ 9.7g/t from 17m (includes 1m at 14.1g/t from 18m), 6m @ 2.2g/t from 4m (includes 1m at 5.1g/t from 6m), and 11m @ 9.1g/t from 7m (includes 4m at 18.4g/t from 10m).Crescent said these grade control intercepts were encouraging, supporting the company’s belief that it had been conservative with ore reserve grade estimates. Previous reverse circulation drilling at Laverton indicated grades of less than 1.5 grams per tonne gold in these zones. Crescent is commissioning and expanding its Laverton mill, which will progressively ramp up to produce 90,000 ounces of gold per annum. Crescent’s tenement interests in the Laverton region extend over more than 1,000sqkm. The Laverton project hosts an Indicated Resource of 20.1 million tonnes at 1.5g/t au for 953,000 ounces of gold and an Inferred Resource of 10.4 million tonnes at 1.4g/t au, totalling 479,000 ounces of gold
