De Grey Mining has announced the first assay results from two holes of the recently completed diamond drilling program targeting the zinc-silver-lead-gold-copper mineralisation at Orchard Tank, one of the six volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) prospects identified at Orchard Well and Tabba Tabba within the De Grey’s Turner River Project, 60km south of Port Hedland.Significant high-grade polymetallic intersections were returned from both the Orchard Tank holes. WADH014 returned 2.43m at 8.90% zinc, 256g/t silver, 4.45% lead, 2.51g/t gold and 0.14% copper from 308.27m, and WADH016 returned 5.1m at 3.87% zinc, 214g/t silver, 2.13% lead, 1.21g/t gold and 0.10% copper from 269.9m. In addition De Grey reported further reverse circulation results from its Hakea VMS Prospect, located 5.4 kilometres west of Orchard Tank, with a best intersection of 4m at 3.31% zinc, 108g/t silver, 1.73% lead, 0.25g/t gold and 0.05% copper from 37m, from WARC070. According to De Grey, drill hole WARC070 is the most eastern hole completed to date at Hakea and intersected the mineralisation predominantly in the weathered zone. The company said that drilling at other VMS prospects along strike indicated that base metal grades can be of higher tenor in primary sulphide minerals beneath the partially leached oxide zone. There is currently no reverse circulation drilling between Hakea and the Cassia Prospect, located another 1.2km along strike to the east. De Grey is now awaiting assay results from the remaining six diamond holes completed at Turner River targeting VMS mineralisation. The company’s Managing Director, Darren Townsend said the high-grade results from the diamond drilling program were very encouraging. “This drill program has generated a lot of information and we will thoroughly analyse all assay results before commencing our next round of reverse circulation and diamond drilling,” he said.
