Central Asia Resources Ltd continues to be buoyed by results from recent diamond drilling at the Kepken Prospect in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The latest results have identified a further extension to the zones of gold mineralisation to the west and east of the previously identified mineralised structures. The recently completed drill program at this prospect was designed to test the depth extensions of mineralised zones, the lateral extent of the mineralised boundaries and follow-up on previous RC drilling intersections. The areas that have now been tested and extended are the structures to the west (on the northern and southern limbs) and east of the main anticline structure. Assays have now been received for 33 drill holes for 7,191m at the Kepken prospect. The total length of the Kepken main mineralization zone intersected by drilling is now 1,800m. The structure remains open to the west on both the north and south limbs and is also open to the east. The depth of mineralisation currently extends to 182m and remains open.An initial resource estimate for Kepken that is compliant with JORC guidelines is scheduled to be completed this quarter.Gold mineralisation at the Kepken prospect is hosted within an anticlinal fold structure consisting of a sequence of dolomites, tuffaceous sediments, sandstones, cherts and black shales. The limbs of the anticline are interpreted to dip deeply to the north and south. Dolomite forms the core of the anticline and shearing is evident adjacent to the contact between the dolomite and sedimentary units. The stratabound gold mineralisation is associated with pyrite and arsenopyrite disseminated in the black shale units.Central Asia holds a 60% interest in Golden Eagle Investment Resources Limited. Golden Eagle has a 95% interest in the Alytn-Tas Joint Venture and a 60% interest in the Buguty-Palm Joint Venture.Through the joint ventures, Central Asia has acquired an indirect interest in the K2, Akbakai South, Balkhash and Boguty Corridor gold and base metals projects in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
