Mapping survey confirms mineralisation at Mt Holmes

Diversified exploration and mining company, Kangaroo Metals is midway through a comprehensive mapping study of Mt Holmes to confirm previously described mineralisation zones and identify drilling sites.Kangaroo has confirmed that a high density of vein structures at surface, representing less than 10 percent of the target region, contains various levels of mineralisation. Representative tin and tungsten samples were identified, cassiterite and wolframite, respectively, within the vein swarms, along with additional breccia structures and zonal trends in mineralisation. Kangaroo said that field examination had confirmed good vein continuity over a 500m strike length, however the company said it would be more profitable to target a 200m zone at the southwest end, which contains the visible tin-tungsten mineralisation at surface. The company said it will test this mineralisation zone for sub-surface mineralisation quality and depth in November with 2000m of close-spaced reverse circulation drilling.Mt Holmes is situated 10km from the historically rich Mt Carbine mine and 17km from the Watershed Project, one of Queensland’s largest tungsten reserves. Kangaroo said it would also test for additional alluvial tin, which is known to exist in the creeks at the base of Mt Holmes, to add to the Mt Holmes Project designs.
