The International Conference of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Themed Best Practices in Management and Exploitation of Subsurface Resources hosted Senior Officials from Member States including the Deputy for Exploration at the Geological Survey of Iran

The Deputy for Exploration at the Geological Survey of Iran (GSI) Participated in the International Conference of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Moscow Themed , Best Practices in the Management and Exploitation of Subsurface Resources, alongside Senior Officials from Member States.

The Deputy for Exploration at the Geological Survey of Iran (GSI) Participated in the International Conference of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Moscow- Themed “Best Practices in the Management and Exploitation of Subsurface Resources”- alongside Senior Officials from Member States.

This two-day international event (held on September 17-18) was organized with the support of the SCO and the Supreme Mining Council of Russia.

The opening ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials from the Russian Federation, the SCO Secretary-General, and ministers and deputies responsible for the mining sectors of member and observer states. Ebrahim-Ali Molabeigi, the Deputy for Exploration at the Geological Survey of Iran (GSI), represented the Islamic Republic of Iran at the meeting. The primary objective of the conference was the official launch of a joint SCO platform for sharing the cutting-edge technologies across the mineral extraction and processing chain, as well as reinforcing the multilateral cooperation as to the high-level decision-making in this field. According to the event agenda, key discussions focused on the strategic areas including the exploration and extraction of gold, polymetallic ores, and rare earth elements (REEs) considered priorities for sustainable development and the supply chains of the advanced industries. Furthermore, the conference featured the specialized panels addressing such topics as the digitalization and smartization of mines, 3D modeling software, deep-seated geophysics, and the deployment of modern technologies to supply the energy to remote mining regions.
