The scientific secretary of the fourth ECO experts group meeting and the director general of the Office of Geological and Environmental Hazard Investigation and Engineering of the GSI said that the organization has prepared the earthquake map of the ECO countries and is preparing the landslide map and these maps need to be updated every year, because we see that every two to three years with a flood, these maps change and this is the situation that the ECO countries have experienced

Presenting the reports and statements of member states, international institutions and ECO secretariat as to the status of implementation of the ECO Regional Action Plan on Disaster Risk Reduction and the latest developments in ECO Member States on this issue have been the most important mandate of this international meeting

The 4th ECO experts group meeting (EGM) on disaster risk reduction (DRR)hosted by the GSI started its work in ECO secretariat in Tehran this morning

The Director of the International Affairs Office of GSI announced the holding of the 4th Experts Group Meeting of ECO (Economic Co-operation Organization) member states on the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in the region hosted by the Geological Survey of Iran in Tehran and supported by the International Institute of Seismology and Earthquake Engineering

Following the consultations and holding the numerous technical-executive meetings between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation since last year, the fields of implementation of this cooperation are accelerated with the aim of training and empowerment of Iranian specialists and making an effective revolution in the process of geological activities and exploration of mineral deposits of the country.

Following the holding of the Euro-Asia Economic Forum (2023) in Xi'an, China, Dr. Jafar Omrani, Deputy of Geology at GSI, attended both the meeting and the Forum "International Cooperation in Earth Sciences and Eurasian Green Mining Investment - 2023 among Shanghai Member States".

In order to exchange exploration and geological experiments, the following meeting was held: Director of Jiangxi Bureau of Geology (JBG) in China met with the deputies and managers of the Geological Survey of Iran (GSI)

The meeting of JSC representatives from Rosgelogia Holding of Russia and the director and experts of National Geoscience Database of Iran (NGDIR) from the Geological Survey of Iran was held as a webinar in order to answer the questions raised for the Russian side about one of the issues of the agreement between Iran and Russia to prepare geological maps in the scale of 1:50000, i.e., database at the international affairs department of the organization.

A bilateral memorandum of understanding between the Geological Survey of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Vienna-Austria Museum of Natural History was signed by the efforts of the International Affairs Department of GSI this morning.
